Livonia Ambulance District #1

PO Box 8
Livonia, NY 14487-0008

Established in 2006, the Livonia Ambulance District serves the entire Town of Livonia and the Town of Conesus by contract.  Prior to 2006, Ambulance service was provided as part of the Livonia Joint Fire District, however budgetary constraints necessitated that the Ambulance form its own separate district.  As its own entity, the Ambulance District can participate in third party billing, an option not available to ambulance services that are part of fire districts.  Donations were just not keeping pace with the increasing costs of providing emergency medical care, and third party billing allows the newly formed district to bill insurance companies for services. The ambulance is staffed entirely by volunteers at this point, although paid staff may be added at a future date to continue to allow the ambulance to be available 24/7.
