Construction Notice - Federal Road in the Towns of Conesus and Livonia
The
next two processes in the reconstruction of Federal Road will be
grinding the asphalt pavement and placement of a geo-textile fabric.
These two processes will be combined into one operation that will
require the closing of sections of Federal Road - between Cole Road and
Cleary Road - to all thru-traffic.
Detours will be posted, and we respectfully request that all
thru-traffic use the full detour of State Route 15 to State Route 20A.
If you need access to a location on the road, local detours will be
posted and every reasonable effort will be made to allow you to access
that site.
As the crew work passes each driveway, there will be a short period of
time in which you will not be able to enter or leave that property. We will make every reasonable effort to keep this to a minimum, and will inform you with an estimated wait time.
The work is currently scheduled to begin April 29, 2013
(but may be delayed due to weather and/or other uncontrollable
circumstances) and is expected to last approximately two weeks. Once
completed, the road will then be prepared to receive an additional
layer of crusher run stone and then a layer of hot mix asphalt. During
both of these processes, sections of the road will again be closed to
thru traffic.
Please be advised that once the grinding begins - and until the final
layer of asphalt is placed, the road surface will consist of groud
asphalt and loose crusher-run stone. Therefore,
although there will be times that thru-traffic can be accommodated, it
may still be in your best interest to use the detour.
The road crew will maintain close communication with the E911 Dispatch
Center to make any needed accommodations for emergency vehicles.
Please understand that
these next phases of the project will be the most difficult and
disruptive. We ask for and appreciate your continued patience and
understanding during this major road improvement project.
If you have questions, please call the Livingston County Highway Department at 243-6700.
Sincerely,
Don Higgins
