Village
Refuse Collection
The Village
has a contract with a private firm, Shank Enterprises, for weekly
refuse pickup. Village residents' refuse will be picked up every
Wednesday, unless Wednesday is a legal holiday. Please rinse clean
all recyclables. Recyclables must be separated from solid waste
using recycling rules and regulations. Recycling bins may be obtained
at the Village Office, 36 Commercial Street.
The Village is not
responsible for the disposal of building or hazardous materials.
Residents should contact Shanks at 582-2120 to arrange for disposal
of these materials, or see below for information on additional
options.
CLEAN Recycling
Center
CLEAN Recycling Center
is located at 5766 Federal Road in Conesus. Anyone who owns property
in the towns of Conesus or Livonia may utilize the center.
Winter Hours of Operation
- First Saturday of October thru the last Saturday in April: Saturdays
9 AM - 12 PM
Summer Hours of Operation
- First Saturday of May thru the last Saturday of September: Saturdays
8 AM - 12 PM
A $10 user permit allows
unlimited use for recycling items for one year. Please note that
beginning 1/2/2010, a $2 fee will be assessed for each visit without
a permit. Recyclable items include:
- Glass, plastic,
steel, aluminum food and beverage containers
- Newspaper, magazines,
office mix, phone books, junk mail, milk & juice containers,
books
- Cardboard
- Certain clean,
serviceable, reusable items such as clothing and sporting goods
(as space permits)
- Brush, branches,
leaves, Christmas trees, yard waste
- Batteries
Punch cards are sold
in $10 (good for 5 30-gallon bags) or $20 (good for 11 30-gallon
bags) denominations. Other items for which charges apply include:

GLOW
GLOW,
located in Batavia, accepts hazardous materials on an annual
basis (usually in the spring). You can reach GLOW at 344-2580,

Village
Grass, Brush and Weed Pickup
Grass
pickup is available weekly on Mondays beginning in April. Grass
clippings should be placed in barrels or special biodegradable
bags. Bags can be obtained at local hardware stores.
Brush
pickup is available from mid-April through May, on a weekly
basis. From June through October, brush will be picked up on
the first Monday of every month. Brush should be placed curbside
no more than three days in advance of pickup date.
Leaf
pickup begins on the second Monday of October and will continue
until the last Monday of November. Leaves must not be piled
in the road, but as close to the road as possible. No rocks,
sticks, brush or other material should be mixed with the leaves.
