Tree Planting

We continue to have a problem with many of the trees that were planted during out DOT Project.  Last year, the Village replaced about two dozen, and now it appears that two or three dozen more need to be replaced. The DOT sub-contractor, Alleghany Landscape, no longer has an obligation, but the trees will be replaced. The Village has been in contact with several nurseries and there are plans to replace the trees that are not flourishing.

The regular village tree program will begin again this fall.  Tree plantings are required to be in the vacinity of the street or sidewalk area to help beautify our Village streets.

To request a tree planting, contact Dennis Palmer at 346-2010. For the past several years, the Village has been working with a tree consultant who is trying to help us achieve a balance of tree species. As a result, requests made concerning the planting of specific trees may or may not be met. We will be happy to discuss options with you.
